VISP Love !
So I just saw this new VISP thread and figured that since we have a Leader Love thread, why not a VISP Love thread as well:
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ame-Bike-Build
I bought my VISP TRX 790 frameset on eBay 4 years ago in an auction and paid more for shipping from China than the auction sale price
I initially built it up using a lot of junk parts I had laying around and it looked like heck, but over time I've changed out parts and it's become a real sweet ride. Despite the very heavy frame and fork, I've managed to pare its weight down to 18.8 lbs, and could easily knock off another pound if I changed over to a carbon fork. It's ultra stiff and responsive, but does have a pretty harsh ride. I'm currently using Shimano mountain SPD pedals so I can use walkable shoes and sandals with recessed cleats. Gearing is a lowish 43 X 16 to make an easy ride even up steep hills but still spin down hills at over 30 mph and maintain about 20 mph on the flats.
