Redline 925 Specs

Hi all

I own a 2007 Redline 925 and wanted to ask anyone one here if they happen to know where I could go to find the specifications regarding the size of the headtube because I want to swap out my current fork for another. I've measured the diameter on the fork and it measures 1" but it seems to have quite some space when I slip it into the frame which makes me think that it might actually need a 1 1/8" fork. I'm not sure if all forks are supposed to have room or if they're supposed to take up all the room inside. I also assume that because the stem uses a shim to fit on the steerer because its 1 1/8". I bought the bike used so I'm unfamiliar with the components on it and have not been able to find these specifications.

Thank you all

If it measures 1" diameter on the steerer then it's 1"
The steerer will not fill the headtube, there needs to be room for the bearings in there.

Thank You. So generally speaking I would need to buy a 1" headset as well correct? I've looked at bikepedia (if is's accurate) and it said that it uses a 1" 1/8 headset.

My stem broke so I removed the fork.

That's what I looked at, but in regards to the headset saying "1 1/8" does that mean that I need a steering tube of the same size? My current one is 1".

Are you sure you measured the exterior diameter? I would be surprised if it was 1".

I'm using a ruler. The fork that I removed has a diameter of 1" for the steering tube while the head tube is about 1 1/8. I assume that the previous owner placed a smaller steering tube than what was originally placed.

The fork sometimes is marked(maybe check it carefully for size verification). And how did the stem break? Might be a sign of a bad fork(wrong size).
