Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

No really, anyone who hasn't been to the motor city don't know what I'm talking about. For my locals, they got Coney places like we got Dunkin' Donuts. It's just wacky.

I know! I take all out of towners there. That, the Museum of Art, Erie Street Market, the Zoo, Reggie's, etc... Except for the latter, all the hokey stuff.

you know, i was considering saying something disrespectful about tony packo's, in the context of the coney dog discussion, but really that would be unfair; tony's doesn't do coneys, they got their own thing going. i dig that hot potato salad they got there. yeah yeah east side.

now vernors, that's what i'm talking about.

It's not at all coney style, I just wanted to push Packos if we was talking dogs.

he he! the bigring exaggerates just a tad. this thread should also mention the wolverine 200, on belle isle, which is just what its name implies. and metro detroit also has an outdoor velodrome (open slightly more than 35% of the year), which one of these days i will ride on if i can get my lazy self to brave the nerve-wracking oakland county traffic and just get out there.

Bikes: Surly CrossCheck

35% of the year, huh?
I can ride 99% of the year. The other 1% is when the snow is too deep on the roads right after a big storm.
The amount of time I actually like riding? Middle of march until the end of November. That's a lot more than 35%.

I have a hook up from Detroit who brings it to Mtl by the case.

It's very gingery. And of course the only thing you can take with a couple at the Lafayette.
