This is the first I have heard of an issue with the Wellgo pedals. Wellgo is a 3rd party and we've generally had success with them.
Thank you, I KNEW that you would come through.

To me it was an answer. He answered my question. And yes, it's damage control for the company and for the buyer! I also call it customer service with a follow up. The main thing is that I'm hoping the issue will be resolved and the customer happy. And if this comes through I give Kudos to the company.

If some pr guy comes here any tries to bs his way though a problem, then he very much deserves to get pooped on. Instead of admitting that he had a basic quality problem, he tried to minimise it and blame it on other causes like shipping damage. When the BD guy came here some time ago and tried that, he deservedly got the same treatment. BFSSFG is an equal opportunity pooper.

He only "showed up" because he was asked to by someone employed by Bike Forums to handle advertising. Willfully becoming an active member of a forum comprised of his would-be cutomers would have been commendable.

co-founder =/= some pr guy. and you're right. shipping damage never happens. i understand the poop the bd guy got. theyre not his bikes. he buys and sells without opening a box. this guy here is defending a company he helped to build with product he developed. he even said he would replace the frame. standing behind his product and offering to make problems right =/= bs-ing his way through a problem.

Let's give the guy a chance to remedy the issue. Depending upon the outcome, from there we will see.

Mercier, one of their brands actually is renound and has been around since the 70s. I googled them recently. BD is an online dealer kind of like citygrounds from my understanding. Mercier is just a bicycle brand they sell. They do not open the box because they are a online dealer only.

Wrong. Mercier of the 70s is totally not the Mercier of today. I have a Mercier of 1970s and it was made in France by Frenchmen. Mercier is just a name that has been sold and is being plastered on bikes made in Taiwan. There is absolutely no connection between the old and new versions. That said, the quality of the Mercier Kilo bikes is better than the lower end bike boom era Merciers.

Mercier is a now defunct brand, just like Dawes and Motobecane. Their labels are all meaningless on the bikes sold today. BD has simply purchased the rights to those brands, and sells generic rebranded bikes under well-known names.

edit- TT fast

I was really disappointed when I was shopping for a new Bianchi. I wanted an ITALIAN bike.

Nope. BD owns the names Mercier, Motobecane, Windsor etc and just has Taiwanese knockoffs of others frames made and stored for "factory direct" shipping.

edit- I like how we all jumped on that.

I know, huh. So since I wanted an authentically made authentic bike, I flew to Colorado and made sure my authentic Colorado bike was made in Colorado.

Fantastic! Have you contacted the member to coordinate the beginnings of handling the concern? Here is his name: Training.Wheels

Perhaps you can contact him through the profile messages since you cannot PM him yet. Would love to hear the outcome!

Then who designs the frames? Mercier does not design the frame or did they buyout the designs and the name?

The kilo tt is a KHS flite 100. Does anyone know if they actually bought the design or if the factory just happened to borrow it?

I tried messaging them, but I don't have 50 posts so I am unable to use that feature.

If someone wants to past on the info here is what it said:

Hello,

My name is Mehdi Farsi, co-founder of State Bicycle Co.

I understand you had some issues regarding your frame. Please contact admin@statebicycle.com and we can replace the frame if you would like.

We stand behind our product and we will do whatever it takes to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase.

Best regards & ride safe.
