Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

funny eBay descriptions

I was browsing tonight and thought about all the ridiculous things people say to make their item sound better. The one I saw tonight was: "these are in ALMOST like new condition" (emphasis mine).

sounds a lot like "used" condition to me. Anybody see or remember anything else good?

Well duh, they're 105 brakes!

Here's an exchange I had with a "knowledgeable" seller.

Questions from other buyers for this listing *

Q: *Hi, I'm the guy who answered your question regarding the BCD. Can you provide for me the name and number of the bike shop that gave you the incorrect information? Thanks!
Answered on Feb-23-05

** A: *Sorry for not providing the information about the BCD sooner. Thanks for your patience, the correct BCD is 130. Please email with any more questions, again, thanks for your patience.

Q: *BCD : bolt circle diameter, measurement (metric) between opposing bolts that fasten the sprocket to the drive crank arm...I hope this helps.
Answered on Feb-23-05

** A: *I talked to a bike shop and they explained to me that the BCD on this crank is called a square taper. E-mail if this does not answer your question.

Q: *Do you the BCD? Is it for a double or triple?
Answered on Feb-22-05

** A: *I know it is for a double but am not sure if it is compatible with a triple. I don't know what BCD means, sorry.

The dude who puts "track" in the title of his road conversions. They're not track bikes and they're not allowed on tracks!
