Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I building a pub/beater bike. I got an V3 Scrambler frame and most parts will be from the parts bin. I need to build wheels and get a crankset though.

Did you quote yourself because you wanted to post your frame again?

Campanolo pista cranks
Campy pista hubs on Mavics

Haven't decided on cloth or Benotto bar tape...leaning towards Red Cloth

The original P14 made in the good old USA with original paint and decals is pure sex. It would be nice if you could find a vintage Cinelli track bar rather than Nitto for the sake of authenticity. Basically, that bike should be all Italian componentry from the period.

I agree, however the old Cinelli cro-mo bars are selling for sick prices. For now, will go with the Nitto's with intent to switch to the Cinelli bars. how about the bar tape...any opinions? Red or Black? Cloth?
