Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

coast to coast without coasting!!
Ride to benefit my daughter's illness, Histiocytosis, a rare disease similar to cancer.
Riders, ideas, sponsors, witty remarks welcome!
Visit the newborn and very rough website: www.fixhistio.org

See photos of my daughter and my Quickbeam attached.

"Coast to coast without coasting" - nice, I like that.

Wow. Can you make a good mount of money on those rides?

excellent fundraising idea mojo.
what route are you taking, and are you gonna ride one gear the whole way, or switch 'em out for the terrain of that day?

Davis-Reno-Hwy 50 in Nevada, northern Colorado, Nebraska, just south of Chicago, Cleveland. We will follow I-80 sort of, turning north at Cleveland to Buffalo, then across NY State and Mass.

I hope to have mountain wheelsets---flip-flop with 11 on one side 23 on the other.
Plus, I have a quickbeam. Terrain will be tough. Phil wood has ponied up 5 hubsets, Surly is in, too.

Join us!!!
