i don't see what the big deal is? if it is a documentary then it has to show old clips seeing as it is the history of the subject. i think it looks badass..although it will be no rad.

also, after feeling like a total ****er becuse i couldn't think of the name of another movie, i have remembered and i am gonna tell everyone saying this movie is biting dogtown to watch this one: on any sunday 1971, motorcycles, and steve mcqueen... if you wanna say that somebody stole from dogtown, then dogtown stole from this... and this stole from endless summer... but the connections between dogtown and any sunday are way more obvious...

ahh.. i want to see that one.. didnt a book just come out of photos from this?

i have no idea about the book... but it's an awesome movie... the more recent releases of it have a 20 minute or so tribute to steve mcqueen as well...

d-town focused on a specific group of kids who pioneered a style of skateboarding that basically re-invented and re-invigorated the sport at the time. joe kid is different. the version i saw (note: not the final cut as i've heard they've done some final editing since) encompasses much more i.e. - a comprehensive look at the history of bmx and freestyle. from the early non-sanctioned beginnings to the x-factor that exists today. the footage is sick, the guests abound, and anyone who's had any remote interest in the sport should check this out. comparing it to dogtown misses the point entirely. measuring it against RAD? hehe, run along. joe kid has taken the baton and will probably run with it well into the future. kudos to mark and john for putting this all together. you've captured something special for the sport and you should be proud. - serge

I wouldn't exactly call it stealing, On Any Sunday and Endless Summer were both directed by Bruce Brown.

"The East Coast premiere is scheduled for Saturday May 14th in NYC at the Bicycle Film Festival. This will be a big one too.

Sweet.
Having never shredded a board of any type, I'll be able to relate more to this Joe Kid movie. Loved that old footage.
