Hub preferences - fixed/free, color or none?

I was curious as to what people rode or what they preferred and why. Do you ride fixed/free, fixed/fixed? Also, how do you feel about colored hubs? What's your dream hub?

well, i was riding fixed/free on my first conversion, but after about 6 months of never swapping to the freewheel side, i just took it off. now i'm on the same wheelset with a new frame, still running only fixed, with a plain silver hub.. i'll probably try to get a black one on my new wheelset.. to match the black rim/spokes/nips.

Fixed/fixed but I only use one side. Don't really care about the colour as dirt tends to cover most of it up after a while.

I'm currently running an on-one. The only problem is its a bit heavy mostly I think because of the steel axel. If it had an alu axel and slightly better seals it would be pretty much perfect.

i have IROs on two bikes and love them. i'm fine with colored hubs, but my bikes generally aren't colorful enough to make one fly.

dream hub? i'm trying to decide between pauls and phils for my next set. (any comments?)

my "awesome yojimbos" wheel is just fixed. I didn't understand
the whole flip/flop idea back then. it is silver & it is my dream
hub.

Just checked out their website; those look nice! They've definately got a uniqueness advantage on this side of the pond, as well.

I got goldtec rear fixed/fixed, only using one side. very nice smooth hub.
And I prefer polished silver over colored hubs. my goldtec's weird grey/pewter ano. quite tempting to test that oven cleaner method...

Two sets of wheels - one fixed/fixed with slicks, one free/free with knobbies. No funny colors, please.

this is funny. we are both in london and have a goldtec hub but are unhappy with the colour and want to
try the oven cleaner on it. actually I tried it yesterday night on the washer for the bolt and it works great!
gives a nice flat silver finish. I will soak the whole thing soon.

Single-sided fixed, high flange, Phil, Black. Now my least favorite part about my bike is my frame.

I'm riding a 36H Suzue Promax fixed/free on my everyday ride and a 32H Dura-Ace fixed/fixed on my training ride. I screwed up planning my gearing, though, and my freewheel side is way too easy to be of any use. I seem to recall reading of a fairly safe way of securing a fixed-cog to the freewheel side. If I run across that thread I'll give it a try.

Fixed/Free IRO 120mm (Black) on Black Velocity Deep Vs
Fixed/Free Promax SB (Silver) on Silver Open Pros

I'm pretty stoked on my black hub/rim combo. I suppose fixed/fixed is the best combo to have, but I hardly ever switch cogs, so it really isn't a big deal to me.

My first fixie had a generic, old, pos hub. I broke it in the arizonafixedgeardesertchampionships, got 2nd in the race, and my prize was a brand new phil wood high flange fixed/fixed chrome track hub. Considering I'd only been riding fixed for a couple of months, I felt quite undeserving. It's a 36 hole built on a sun tour with DS Swiss Alpine III spokes (beefy). It's great and by far the nicest thing on my bike. Also, Phil Wood was excellent when I had to deal with them. The prize hub was actually spaced for a mountain bike. I e-mailed them and asked to exchance. They happily told me I could get whatever I wanted, so that's what I chose. I got 36 vs 32 based on some advice from a friend. It may not look as nice, but I doubt it will ever go out of true.
