my cinelli experience. it desperately needs a new wheelset, and i want a full sram force group. currently on a cheap maddux wheelset off a stock bianchi and a real mixed up sramano group (105, apex, rival, & force)

Both are really nice. But I absolutely love the yellow color on the specialized. Something about yellow on cars and bikes....

Weighed my two commuters:

vintage steel Fuji from 1975 = 26 pounds
carbon tube, alu lugs and fork Trek from 1995 = 23 pounds

20 years in bike tech, only 3 pounds in reduction. Not that I care that much, but I was a little underwhelmed, thought the old Moly steel was going to be heavier and the carbon much lighter.

Should have done it. The Ironman series are phenomenal bikes for the money -- its steel, light and you can't beat the late 80's paint jobs It is seriously my favorite bike -- I would buy another in a heart beat just cuz.
