Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Many people (myself included) choose not to do business with PayPal, because they use their leverage as such a commonly used service to pressure political, moral and religious issues. Read some of their policies on what you're not allowed to buy with PayPal sometime; I think you'll be offended. Just one example: I imagine a lot of people here enjoy body piercing and tattoing? Well, both of those activities are "forbidden" when doing business with paypal. Sure, it might take a couple extra minutes to pay with another method, but it's really not worth it to throw business to people who want to control perfectly legitimate, legal activities just because of whatever their own agenda may be...

That doesn't really bother me at all. It's their right to choose who they want to do business with, just like it's someone else's right to sell knives and *****s. They happen to offer an extremely convenient service so until someone else steps up and can offer the same thing with a less-conservative business plan I'll keep using them.

Think about this...

You crest a hill and start speeding downward. Your spinning 150+ rpm's with a velocity in the uper 30's mph. Your front tire blows out because you didn't spend the $3 for rim tape. Next thing you know your in the meat wagon heading for the E room.

I have had rim tape on a rim and, over time, it slides over to expose one spoke hole. Of course the tube eventually blows.

I have used electrical tape but it slides around even more. If you have too use it, I would use at least two layers.

I ride brakeless so I try to eliminate as many bad variables as I can. This will be the best $6 you ever spend!
