Because I like the look of quill stems too much I might ever get to try them, but Salsa has some nice bars. They are a compact design and curve out also for better wrist comfort it seems. The Salsa Cowbell bars.

Yepper. Track bars are meant for racing on the track and are not designed for comfort. If you are riding on the road, then road bars are the way to go. That's why I recently changed out the track bars on my Bianchi Pista Concept to road bars, since it's now being used primarily on the road. It makes a world of difference.
