Got 2:
I ride the fixie everyday.

Never rode the mtn after I got the fixie. Considered selling it.

Moving to MPLS for grad school. After reading this thread now thinking about converting the mtn to a fixie/SS and low gearing it for the snow.

Hi Everyone, This is my first real post here so here goes....
I have a few diffrent bikes as my sig shows and they are all for diffrent things, but they revolve around my BMX Cruiser. Getting back into BMX at almost 40 years old has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. I am now getting back into road riding on my Allez as a way to get in better shape for my Bmx racing. My cardio stinks......The Cyclocross bike.....well thats a long term project that I have not even seen in about 5 years. I need to head to Maryland and pick it up and get to work on that one.

Amazing how it snowballs, isn't it? I've got my geared/slicked GT, which fits great and is a blast to ride. I've also got the 70's Maserati that is on its way to being a fixie, and a tall bike (really tall, about 6' at the saddle) that started life as an SS, and ended up with a SA 3-speed.

Actually, the tall bike is a good example of what to do with extra bikes. Cut them up and make them into one. About 3 department store mountain bikes (mostly magnas) from the alley went into making the tall bike, plus the SA hub and ape hanger bars. But 3 bikes into one bike isn't bad. :)

More more more! People throw away great bikes all the time, and it just seems like a shame to let them disappear... My friend owns about 75 bikes, mostly schwinns, but an eclectic mix from the 20's to today of a bit of everything. Of course, he's still looking for more. ;)

peace,
sam

I had three, but I murdered one today. Now I have one converted fixie and another that I'm leaving as a nice 10-speed. All three were goodwill finds. I'm pinching my pennies so I can afford an actual track bike, and I plan on getting some flavor of MTB for the winter commute next year.

I'm adding one to the stable. Anyone wanna buy a beat-up old rockcombo so's i can make room for the early-nineties ti mtb?
