finally joining the pack
I have lusted after fixed gear bikes for months now. At a Critical Mass a few months ago, I managed to find a guy whose fixie was about my size and had the same pedal system as my (crappy) road bike, and he let me ride it around the parking lot a little bit. It had no brakes, and I only got to ride it for a few minutes, but I knew I was hooked.
Then Saturday night my friend let me ride his Pista (that was way too big for me) in the parking lot of his apartment building. Drunk and standing is totally the way to go.
I have recently come into a few more dollars than I thought I would have (due to some generous family members) and am going to order the Mark V on Friday. I am so. freaking. excited. I can't wait. I really, really can't wait.
Yay!

Thanks! Who did you meet? (It might be better to describe the bike. I know some of the fixed riders in town, but I know their bikes better than their names.)

Oh, dude, I totally know him. He's a messenger here. Neat!
I don't know steevo but there are a lot more fixie riders here than people normally suspect.
