i saw that. that's a small frame. i wonder how much he paid for shipping, cos when i was going to ship mine here it was so expensive i had to wait until a friend could bring it back on a plane.

Do you know if they deal with people outside of Japan? via email or someting. I've been looking for a good small sized track frame and this seems like a good place to find some. I can't imagine shipping to be that much because when my sister used to live in japan i used to send her heavy packages all the time and it was relatively cheap. If anyone has any info on this place please let me know.

Whoops. There it is. I guess I got 2 separate threads confused.

i know when i wanted to ship it out it was pretty pricey, and you have to pay customs duty. but there could be some cheaper method i'm not aware of - maybe a few months by boat like the guy on fixedgeargallery. i did it by sending all my emails to my japanese friend, she would translate and fwd them to shinji at framebank. i paid with an international money order, which was another hassle because not all japanese banks accept all forms of u.s. international money orders. i didn't find this out until later. the only one that would work was issued by the post office, but then they only issue them in US currency, so i had to pay extra for their japanese exchange fee. in order to save on shipping charges i had him ship to her place in japan, and she held onto it until her boyfriend came to visit, and he brought it over on the plane with him - which was another hassle cos the airline limits baggage to specific dimensions, so he had to remove the fork, take out a bunch of the padding and chop the box down otherwise it would have been another $160-180 charge. i guess it depends on how many hoops you're willing to jump through and how much you're willing to spend, because the bike's seem much cheaper in japan, but in the end it may end up costing you twice as much. oh, and it helps to know japanese.

I read a post somewhere saying that the shipping was reduced for additional frames, like if you buy one it's 140,000 yen and 170,000 yen for two ... or something like that. anyone interested on going in on a few frames?

I don't know if anyone noticed, but now it says on the website that they are not shipping to foreign customers at the moment.

Don't mind the shipping costs its worth it. My friend got an email that his was being airshipped on Thursday and it showed up yesterday. He figured it was going to be shipped via a boat and take months and it showed up special USPS delievery on Sunday. Nice shiny ganwell pro with the glitter specs in the paint.

So freakin' disappointing. I just saw that the other day. I think airfare to Japan is pretty cheap right now.

It's weird though, I just got an email from them about a week and a half ago, explaining how to order from them and their shipping cost to the us, etc... Maybe something happened, who knows.
