damn! 17,000 yen is $160! To ship a frame to the US! Gadzooks! |
expensive? doesn't seem that way to me. 40,000 yen is less than $400.

But any way you put it, $160 is a LOT of money to ship a frame. |

maybe the answer is to make a japanese friend, have e-framebank send the frame to your buddy, have friend ship the frame to you. isn't wm. karsten or someone else on here in japan?
|
$160+$375=$535, plus the small fee for the money order, it's expensive by my book, as much as I would love for that to be cheap to me. Nothing against the frames, i was considering going through the trouble of getting one of them, but $535 for a frameset is more than what I paid for the 2.8pound road frame i've got on my geared.

or tomity.

I think if I manage to "swing by" japan on my trip to asia this summer, i'll definately pick up a frame. I'll let you all know if I do and perhaps I can help someone get something. No promises though since Japan would be very expensive to go to, especially after 3 weeks in Asia.
|
so really what we need is someone in japan who'll accept a bunch of bikes, and then ship 'em all over at once.

http://www.e-framebank.com/houki.htm i'm not aware of any international flights that flies directly. although if you're in japan, kansai, narita, or haneda will take you there. domestic flights within japan is crazy expensive though. you'll have to go a bit out of the way to get the frames.. hope it's worth it. good luck! |
Please make the bad man stop.

if that gan well was just a bit closer to my size, i'd snatch it up, $160 shipping and all.
i'll be keeping my eyes open for a kalavinka in my size from now on. |
Okinawa is hard to get to, even from "mainland" japan. If you know any military people stationed there then perhaps something can be worked out.
