I am so glad I have a rivnut tool. While it is a bit of a pain the adapter I have had the best luck with is the minoura.

Its not that complicated, is it? Put it on & pull the strap tight. Its just that no matter how tight I pull the strap, sometimes it slips/rotates when taking the bottle out or putting back in. Thought the problem might be the fairly small tubing on my bike, but your Raleigh should be similar if you use the twofish on it?

Picked up an older all black Rush off ebay recently. Sounds like it would meet your needs except it's a wet black and I opted for the lugged curved fork with threaded headset. You can go straight and threadless also. Soma makes both.

I don't use it on my Raleigh but I've never had any problem with it slipping on any bike I've put it on. Angie uses one on the seat tube of her Vigorelli regularly too wiythout any issues. Maybe you just crazy!

With that kind of loot, if you don't require fender/wide tire/pannier mount, you might consider the wabi lightning. I hear they're both wicked fast and light. If you need fenders and such then the classic looks like an excellent bike.

I would have picked up the Wabi Lightning if I felt like dropping the cash but Reynolds 725 is as good of steel as I've ridden so I went with the Classic. Incredible ride, gotta say. Like the classic road geo.

Richard will work very carefully with you to make sure you end up on the right bike - something that's otherwise hard to work out if ordering online. I was inclined to get the 58 cm as that's all I've ridden in a road frame, and some of the FGs I've ridden were 57's. I was hesitant to take Richard's advice to get the 61, especially in a FG. The standover seemed impossibly high. Glad I took his advice, as the thing is an absolute glove. Keep this classic geometry in mind when sizing a frame, as you'll likely size UP if you're used to a more modern compact road or track frame.

I got everything put together. I took it for a quick ride, and the wheels didn't explode, much to my relief. Initial impressions are that I chose the right size frame. I was tempted to go one size smaller, but I'm glad I went with the larger frame. Also, the fizik arione vs is a hatchet. I'll give it a few rides and play with adjustment, but I think I'm going to have to look elsewhere saddle wise.

The bar/stem/brake lever are all temporary. One I'm dialed in on fit I will cut the steer tube.

Thanks. I love just had it out for two rides so far. So far I'm very happy with the fit. It handles much better than my last bike.

Mine is a size 58. I had a hard time deciding between it and the 55. Looked at some fit calculators online and discussed fit with Richard from wabi. He is the owner and designer at wabi and is very helpful. I am 5'11" with slightly longer legs and arms than average.

FYI, if you go with the rb002s you will likely have trouble finding a thomson stem with a 26.0 clamp. That's the reason I do not have them on this build. I went with fyxation rodeo pursuit with 31.8 clamp and like them so far. I do have rb002s on another bike and I love them.

So far I do not like the fizik saddle, if possible try one. I knew it was a risk buying without riding it first. It's not terrible wearing bike shorts/bibs, but I will probably try something else. Saddles are very much a personal thing though.

I do not have a pedal room.

I don't think I like it. I don't hate it, but I think I like all black better.

It was supposed to be black and white stripe, but it wasn't available or something and I got this in stead. I think the black and white stripe would look cool.

I'll prolly end up with all black when it's all said and done.

Cool, thanks for the reply. Yeah I'm 6'2" and think the 58 would be the perfect size for me.

And about the rb002, yeah I figured that out. Not sure why nitto doesn't make it a 31.8 clamp size. But scrod mentioned that 26mm Thomson stems pop up on eBay every so often so I'll keep an eye out.

As far as the fyxation rodeo pursuit, I had those as an option as well as the leader saber. They are all similar but I think I like how narrow the nittos are. Since I haven't ridden any of them, which bar do you prefer if they were all the same clamp size? The nitto?

Saddles are definitely a personal thing. I just hope I can someone try a fizik out before I pull the trigger on one.
And the zebra looks better than any other printed tape I've seen, but I still prefer solid colors.

Is your brake easy to use? It seems backwards to me.

Definitely love the rb002s. They are my favorite bullhorn. The fyxation are not bad though, I will prolly run them for a while.

I'm beginning to warm up to the saddle. With bibs, it's not to bad.

II think I'll go to all black tape tommorrow.

Yes, the brake works well. It's more of an emergency brake than anything else, or for use where there is a long steep down into a stoplight or something. I'll post another pic, but it's easy to use with you hands in the center. Position. Aiight, bed time.

Definitely much better with black bar tape. I've settled on stem length. All that is left is to order my thomson stem and cut the steer tube.

Looking good! I will look 100 times better with the steerer tube cut. just ordered my rb 002. Got black one on eBay for $50.

the fyxation rodeo pursuits are nice, i have them and enjoy them plus i really like the mild drop in them. Not to much but not to little. Not a fan of bullhorns without drop they just dont look right to me.

i have padded cycling shorts and i feel like when im wearing those i could sit on anything and my ass wouldnt feel a thing...

Your going to spend that much money on a bike and then put on a cheap brake, WHY?
At least for the aesthetics, get a nice looking one.

Cheap doesn't have to mean bad....

Tektro levers & calipers may be cheap but plenty good. Best bang for the buck.

And besides by not getting a dura ace or sram red or campy record caliper he saved money for other things on the build!
