slangjang 03-31-05 10:55 PM

bostontrevor 03-31-05 11:04 PM

I won't be there next week but people should remind me and I'll be in the week after. Sounds like a hoot.

slangjang 03-31-05 11:09 PM

yeah it was a lot of fun. i had never raced before and most the guys there were veterian messangers or had been ridign for a while. but they didnt care who came. a dude showed up of a mountain bike and raced and all was good. im still tryin to catch my breath though.

go4broke44 04-01-05 10:23 AM

wow, and to think i could have raced my bike, instead of almost getting arrested in my dorm rooms cause wentworth cops are stupid ****s

veghead 04-01-05 11:49 AM

You guys are killing me! I feel so traped! Can't wait until June when I move back to Brookline! I will bring "liquid speed" to compensate for my lack of bike speed. Just keep it rollin until I get there.

Hey, not too much. I'll probably be back sometime in late june or early july. By the way, any of you guys need a new roomate for September?

slangjang 04-01-05 05:10 PM

yeah its possible about the roomate thing. although i kinda want to get out of this building due to the massive amounts of break-ins its had in teh last 4 months.

MIT has a functioning fission reactor in the middle of campus. Right across the street from the functioning cyclotron, apparently they need (or needed) the reactor to power the cyclotron. You know, right in the middle of the city. lol. I miss MIT.

bostontrevor 04-01-05 07:54 PM

The funny thing is that the city of Cambridge has an ordinance against transporting nuclear material through the city, raising the question of how the MIT reactor is supplied.

WithNail 04-01-05 10:15 PM

I thought they had 2, I know that WPI also has a reactor.

bostontrevor 04-02-05 01:08 AM

They've got a fission and experimental fusion reactor. Both are research vessels (the fission reactor doesn't produce electricity) but I believe only the fissile fuel is considered as nuclear material. Typical fusion reactor designs use radioactively benign hydrogen isotopes and even in operation emit relatively low level of radiation.

trevor it's past 2 am, go to bed!

sbeatonNJ 04-06-05 09:51 AM

Hey if anyone goes to this let me know what the track is like and how it is riding the turns; from what I understand its just the regular running track right. I ask this because the community college 2 miles from my house has an asphalt track that no one uses and reading this post made me think of starting my own races there. I am just kind of wondering how long the sprints are and stuff like that, sounds like it would be a good time.

Alexi 04-06-05 11:25 AM

anyone going tomorrow?

misterherman 04-06-05 12:28 PM

maybe if I have enough chainlinks laying around to get the ole 56-tooth chainring on the daccordi funny bike

Alexi 04-06-05 12:47 PM

do you need 1/8ths?

misterherman 04-06-05 02:15 PM

no its my conversion with 3/32. but I could use one of those old hairnet helmets. I dont know how Im gonna push the 89" gear back up the hills to brighton though...

tylersage 04-06-05 03:42 PM

is this rain or shine? and what time?

misterherman 04-06-05 05:29 PM

holy ****, I put the 56 ring on here, but theres no way Im riding this thing in the street, I can barely stop it going parking lot speed.
