I recently purchased cranks from the website then read old posts about then going out of business. Has anyone recently purchased from them?

If you've got the cranks and they're in good condition, does it matter if they've gone out of business?

Possibly, if the OP likes the cranks and was thinking, "hey, what else can I get from them?"

Which is why inanely vague threads like this frustrate those unfortunate enough to click on them.

Please let me know when iro goes out of business, so I can sell my Rob Roy, which I almost never ride, for millions of dollars.

Why ? Now, if you don't receive the frameset in a week from now, then maybe you might want to dispute it then. I bought a frameset from Dolan in the UK, and they did not send me any confirmation or communication. Then, less than a week later the frameset just showed up at my door w/o any advance warning.

I think I'd dispute it immediately. They don't answer the phone or emails. How long is long enough to wait for the frame to arrive? A shipping confirmation and tracking number should be emailed simultaneously with the charge, and it looks like that aint happening. If the frame arrives, he can just cancel the dispute. But at least this way he has a head start. I bet the bank would appreciate the early notice as well.

Its not that they don't answer phone or emails, its that the phone number I found online is disconnected/not valid and their "contact us" tab does not function properly.
I just replied to the preliminary automated order confirmation email inquiring about the order (which I did not try earlier because I thought it was just an automated service) so we will see...

idk both squid puppet and tejano make good points...

OH the funny part is that i don't have the tools to deconstruct/put together a bottom bracket and live in an apartment, so I put the delivery address to my bike shop... lol.. (with their consent of course, they are going to help me put it together)
I feel like its going to be so awkward to be like "Hey so remember that frame.. soooooooo"

Does anyone here really know what happened to IRO? Seems like they disappeared in a blink of an eye.

Well, I searched this forum for "IRO" and went back pretty far into the list and did not see anything like an answer to my question. Pretty consistent acknowledgment that something went goofy in about 2011. And some sporadic purchases from them since then. But I can not find any account about what happened.

I would not mind being referred to one of those thousands of prior mentions. Or alternatively, you could write a quick sentence with an answer.

Thanks,

Jim

Well **** Jim, you'd think that if one of us knew, we'd probably have answered that question an age ago. Sometimes people go out of business, suck it up and move on. No need to be snarky about being told to search.

That thread had nothing definitive in it with regards to the shuttering of the business.

Owner shut the business down and was selling off all old stock (hence the reason the site online still exsists). There was a quoted email in a thread somewhere on the Internet, but I won't be bothered to find it.

I don't need anything from IRO, plus the site hasn't been working for about 2 years. That is why I used the past tense in my post.
