Exactly this. I'm not even sure what the appeal is for trying to force something on random strangers.

The appeal is trying to prevent them from doing something stupid. I'm speaking strictly theoretically here. Like criminal law. Have you ever heard of the law? Making certain things criminal makes you safer.

But as Scord says, that ain't in my jurisdiction, nor should it be.

Back to the point at hand, riding brakeless on the street is usually only a risk to the rider, so does not apply. Same w drinking chilled Cabernet. Who cares
