What frame is this??

So my buddy just picked up a single speed for a commuter, and we can't figure out what the frame is. They guy on Craigslist told him it was a TFB (Tokyo Fixed Bike) frame but as far as I can tell this frame was never made by TFB.

Anyone know what it is?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Looks a lot like a Leader frame to me.

Looks kind of like a Leader. Is there an "L" embossed on the front of the head tube? If not, it may be one of the Chinese Leader Knockoffs from eBay (typically sold for <$200). I don't think that necessarily makes it a bad frame though.

What are the modern VISPs like?
My son has a VISP road frame we bought as a commuter about 5 years ago. Heavy and ugly at that time, it's done a very good job.

There are many variants, but the image below looks the closest to the OP's photos. I was really saying this tongue-in-cheek, as that bike could be just about any generic Chinese frameset that kinda looks like a Leader. I've long ago torn down my VISP TRX790 and transferred the parts to my much better Dolan Pre Cursa fameset, however, other than being very heavy and the boneshaker ride, the VISP was decent quality with good welds, good frame alignment and good paint. It was actually made in Taiwan rather than China, which probably accounts for the decent quality.

Anyone else remember back when it was "That generic Taiwanese Leader looks like a Bianchi Pista knockoff," and everyone trashed on Leader just being a low quality R&D, nonsensical geometry, copycat brand. Funny how things have changed.

Yup, turns out its just a generic 6061 track frame... The guy selling it told us Tokyo Fixed Bikes which was what had me so confused, turns out he just didnt know what he was talking about lol
