I am looking for a cheap bike ($400 or less) to commute to work with. I'm looking for a 60-61 cm steel frame bike. Right now I've got it narrowed down to the Windsor Clockwork Plus or the Pure Fix Juliet.

I want two brakes (running as a singlespeed) and bullhorn bars. The Pure Fix, customized through their site as I want it, would be $400. The Clockwork would need the bar, levers and tape, which would be around $60 I guess? That puts both their prices extremely close to each other, so I was wondering which would be the better buy. Right now I'm leaning towards the Clockwork because it comes in more colors than the Pure Fix bikes do (can only get all black or all white in a 61cm frame).

There's a Kilo TT stripper on Bike Island right now in 60cm if you can deal with some scuffs.

Thanks for the heads up. I was looking on BikesDirect and it says that the Kilo is measured center to center, and a 60cm Kilo would be suitable for someone 6'6" - 6'8". I'm only 6'2"-6'3", so it seems like it'd be too big for me, right? If I would be able to fit on a 60cm Kilo I will buy that one today.

Oops, thanks for the link! Being a commuter bike, I don't mind the scuffs, so if I can fit on it (I'll measure myself tonight) I'll buy it. If I can't get it for whatever reason, which of the two in the OP would be best? I realize neither of them are probably very good, but I want to keep it cheap for a commuter that will probably be abused and maybe stolen.

I have no experience with either bike but the Clockwork is likely to be a much better deal. Purefix's reputation has improved in the last couple years but they were historically very cheap "custom" fixies where "custom" meant that you got to choose the "colorway".

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I went through the link that prooftheory linked and put in my measurements (I had to do it myself so they were kind of rough but not off by more than a quarter inch) and it said I should be riding a 62-63cm c-t or 60-61cm c-c frame, so I went ahead and bought that Kilo stripper off of bikeisland. I will just have to get a freewheel for it and I'll be all set.

So now everyone knows the answer - the result of flipping a corn is Kilo TT.
