And mountain bikes. I felt so much more in control when I made that change.

Oh, wait... That's because I'm a roadie...

Yah, I'm a roadie. All my miles are on pavement. Half fixed, half with gears, but all road (well, these days, it's about 80% fixed). I use drops on all my bikes.

Should we suggest that those who do not use drops get off the road? :)

I'm impressed by his longevity. then again on the boards I'm used to he would've been banned a long time ago

dpc1192 11-22-14 01:40 AM

I just flipped my stem and now somethings like wobbling? I think it's my fork... its very subtle. when I took the stem off the steerer tube had been cut very short and the fork kinda moved and I thought I had it held back as tight as I could but it feels off..

Oy this is what I get for trying to do some work myself! I really hope I don't have to go back to my LBS to solve this :(

Shhh, they're the same person. I too can not understand why this idiot hasn't been banned, his troll behaviour has gone well past the point that it's funny or useful but sadly, the mods don't agree ... or give a stuff (yes, he has been reported)

Can someone please give me some serious advice about how to stabilize my fork when flipping my stem? Like I said I can tell it isn't tight there's a slight wobble.

GENESTARWIND 11-22-14 02:32 AM

Oh please.

And you need to make an appointment for a cat scan because your brain may be missing.

Maybe back on track.....

I had straight bars on my road-mostly hybrid for commuting but after starting longer rides wanted more hand positions. My LBS recommended a trekking bar, which he adjusted so that the i still had the same position as before but with lots of additional bar space. I did end up flipping the bar upside down to get a better aero position. I'm a very happy biker now!

i'll look into that thanks dude.

but in all seriousness, I tried flipping my stem for a positive 5 degree rise instead of negative, but I felt a bit scrunched up so I flipped it back to negative. I'm very comfortable this way and I think this is the best fit possible for me on a 56cm frame until I upgrade to a 58cm frame.

Go to the mechanics forum and ask.

Bicycle Mechanics

The obvious solution is drops with aerobars. Boom, 3 in one

Make sure the tapes all wrapped wrong and no end plugs so you've got more options for core sampling yourself and others.
