Best fixie under 1200$

Hey everyone!
So my Fixie adventure started out with a bad turn..
I went to Amsterdam to pick up a 'fixie' with a flip flop hub for 180$ (almost free).
But.... it was packed into a box and I was not able to see a show model, so after assembling all the components: it turned out to be a normal bike, and yes here we go, no flip flop hub.
It was to good to be true, but a nice try

Right now I'm thinking about getting my first fixie but not a cheap one: my budget = 1200$
Pretty tricky but I'm just loving them already and I did not even touch them.

So what do you guys advice me?
Please drop all your models, types and brands.

I saw these models and they look awesome to me!

Bikes: Felt TK2, Felt Z5

What style are you looking for exactly? I have a 2013 TK3, and I love it. Drilled for a front brake if needed. That is a pretty healthy budget I would think so you could get quite a bike for the money.

Tk3 (Available in 650c) - Felt Bicycles

Well, my riding style is fast: I want to catch up with my uncle who is a racing cyclist (but hes 65), hit the city, and just do some fun riding (maybe some tricks).
I'm really loving matte black coloured versions, but of course: quality is more important then design.

I would actually look at your local craigslist for that price range. You'll probably find some amazing stuff.

I give a +1 to the Wabi.

Best is a very subjective term.

Get a leader and be done with it, they look good, ride great, hold up well and heck Scrod sells/rides them.

I would concur on the Leader (based on absolutely no experience with them...), they are also readily available in the Netherlands.

On the other hand, I "made" an imaginary 725 with parts from Retrogression and totaled 1778$, without labor....

Bikes: Dolan Pre Cursa, Cannondale R400

OP gave no info as to how this bike will be used.

HOY Fiorenzuola Track Bike - HOY Bikes | Developed by Sir Chris Hoy £675
Dolan Bikes - Dolan Pre-Cursa Track Bike £450

Those two companies are based in England. Not sure how shipping would work for you, but I figured that may bring the cost of shipping or duties down compared to some Bike's Direct bike, or something of the sort. Both bikes listed above are of better quality than anything you listed in the OP.

If my budget was $1200, nothing that State offers would be on the list.

The word best is so overused. What is best to me is crap to others, and vice versa.
