Darn rookie mistakes!

I'm currently using some wallgo M21 pedals with a single nylon strap and plastic toe clips. I decided to purchase double gated metal toe clips with double leather straps for better pedal retention, since I was experiencing retention issues with the "El Cheapo" combo I currently have. I got everything in the mail yesterday and realized that I can only use a single strap with the M21's and that's my rookie mistake. At the moment I'm looking for suggestions on what pedals to get. Any thoughts on the MKS Sylvan Track pedals? Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Rookie mistake # 2: You can use a double strap with those pedals. Just pretend there's a second slot, loop the strap around the bottom of the pedal and tighten it as you normally would (just as one would with MKS GR-9 or GR-10 pedals, which also have one slot). Physics will prevent the strap from coming off when your foot is on the pedal and in the straps.

Because you probably want visual proof:

If you want, on the GR-9's you can put the second strap under the bolts that hold on the toe clip. Just gives the strap a flatter surface to lay against and the bolts kind of hold it in place.

Also, just my opinion but track pedals for every day riding isn't that comfortable.
