Leader Cretin frame... Any opinions?
Just wondering if anyone knows about or has a Leader Cretin frame? I seen them for sale on the 'net and they seemed reasonably priced. I have a lot of component upgrades I could swap out if the BB, Headset, Seatpost aren't up to par. I'm just looking to upgrade from a State Bike that I've completely upgraded and now I want to throw all my upgrades onto a new frame.
Any better deals out there for an aluminum frame in the $300 range? I'm not stuck on Aluminum, just wanted to give an aluminum frame a try. If theres an amazing steel frame around the same price I haven't run into, I wouldn't mind hearing about it.
Thanks

I know about it, don't have one. From the overall positive impression I have of Leaders due to praise on these forums and the love Scrod has for 'em, I have to assume it's an upgrade over a State. Personally, tho, I'd spend the extra $50 for the Cure frame kit - and I'm hoping to this spring if the budget gods allow. Just think it looks better.

The stem weighs about 27 lbs. The seatpost, headset & BB are typical generic items - not terrible, not particularly good. It's still a good deal for the frame and I803 carbon fork, even without the "throwaway" parts.
Aside from that, some of the Cretins have become good friends of mine and I think it's pretty cool that Leader is showing them some local love.

So does the headset have sealed cartridge bearings, or is it just open caged bearings ? I assume the BB is sealed like the Andel Cobra.

Thanks for the info everyone. Scrod, I assume your the owner of Retrogression correct? That's where I'm looking at the frame. Since I may already have your attention, the Aventon Cordoba looks eerily similar to State's Black Label frame only without the fork. Is it decent?

The Cordoba and State Black Label may be similar but they aren't the same. Aventon frames are good for the price but if I had to ride one or the other I'd still choose the Cretin.
