I want to ride the Gainesville-Hawthorne trail. Traillink says I need to park at the Boulware Springs Park trailhead, south of Gainesville. Is there anyplace to park near the Gainesville end of the trail? At Depot Park? Someplace else?

To answer my own question... After driving around the area of Depot Park, we decided to park along S. Main St. close to where the Gainesville-Hawthorne Connector Trail crosses it. There is plenty of room to park and the car was in front of a business, so we felt it was safe. It worked out great.

BTW, we had a great BBQ lunch in Hawthorne at Dianne's Old Time BBQ.

I guess you meant more in the middle of Gainesville then, because Boulware Springs Park is certainly within the Gainesville metropolitan area.

Glad you enjoyed it. I haven't done that trail in fifteen years. Keep meaning to, though.

I might do this trail and the one in Tampa Bay where it parallel a causeway when I go to FL.
