Bulletin board
Would it be possible to start a thread of races/rides for the Southeast region in a bulletin board or calendar fashion? I am new to this forum and new to cycling rides and would like to know about rides in the future so as to be able to coordinate work/family issues to be able to participate in ones of interest. It seems that most posts concerning local rides appear in the forum only a few weeks before the ride occurs. I envision posting of rides by forum members that could be formatted in an ongoing calendar so as to be known and planned for by us all. I may have more need than most for this since there is not a bike shop or cycling club in my town, therefore no one to chat with about upcoming rides. I did participate in the 6 Gap last weekend, of which I found out about through this forum. I realize this may be more of a moderator/administrator question, but if the need is out there, let them know and maybe it will happen. Thanks to all for the forum - good reads.

It won't address your request for a solution here, but for NC I watch several sources including a statewide ride list maintained by the NC DOT. Perhaps there are similar lists for your area?

Thanks, Piper C. I flipped over to NC DOT and that is a great source to search. As far as I know, the GA DOT doesn't have such a service, but I am opened to being corrected by anyone in the know.

best wrap-up of upcoming races/events i read is from VeloNews...
here's a link to the mag's monthly calendar, which lists events around the U.S. (and not road-centric, but also including CC, MTB, etc.):
VeloNews calendar page
p.s. it would be great if someone could maintain an iCal feed for the events!
