Good ride with Janelle, Ralph, Bob, Barry, Bill and Roscoe (for part of the ride). My average from PB to PB (29 miles was 15.5 mph, a little slower than the rest of the group as they were waiting for me at PB. Good ride everyone. Should have a ride video later this evening.

The Posse was a little light today, as six of our regulars were in North GA riding. Roscoe, Lind P, Ralph and Rob and I were the only riders this morning. After coffee at PB we headed out to the horse farms then to the northern trail head by way of Sylvan lake Road. For the 25 mile loop from PB to PB we averaged 15.6 mph and I had a 74.8 cadence. Pretty pleased with these numbers but still have lot's of room for improvement. Temps are still very high with my Garmin showing a high of 100 degrees. Good ride everyone.

Another relaxed ride with Bob, Ralph, Mark and Carl for part of the distance. None of the speedsters showed up today so the cardiac care group just rode at a more leisurely pace and took Mark thru a new area. Bob lost his sun glasses on the way out but we found them on the way back. They were a little scratched up but still usable. Good ride everyone.

First ride since Aug 9. Too many things cluttering my schedule (blood test, wife's blood test, appt with primary care doc, appt with heart doc, Spanish classes, visiting my son in Lake City, etc.). Took the Litespeed out for an easy 35.6 miles. No speed records set, just doing the miles.

Great ride with Nancy Matteson (ride leader) and The Florida Freewheelers today. I started from home and met Ralph along the way then met the rest of the group at The lake Mary shopping center. This ride took us east of the airport the up to Sanford, then along the south side of Lake Monroe. Good ride with a great group.

Took the Cannondale out today after making a small adjustment to the seat position. The ride was more comfortable.
Did my usual ride -- 35.6 miles.
It was REALLY HOT for the 6.5 miles along CR486 from Hernando to home. It really took a lot out of me.

Arrived at the Withlacoochie state trail early this (humid) morning at the Croom Road trailhead, and rode North. We stopped a couple of times up and back for water and a breather. We kept the ride shortish and were back and had the bikes loaded on the car by 10.20, so we finally beat the heat of the day.

Yesterday we took the on road /off road bikes, and drove over to Lakeland to ride the Fort Frazer Trail. On the way we intentionally branched off onto the Circle B Bar Reserve trail (hence taking different bikes). We took a steady, and relaxing ride out to the Polk Nature Discovery Center, on hard packed limestone rock trails. It's an easy ride on flat terrain, but the surface is not suitable for road bikes, so don't try it. The ride through the countryside and between the lakes was fantastic and there was a noticeable cooling effect from the lakes each side of the trail. The plant life and bird life definitely worth seeing. The Nature Center gave us a chance to cool down in some (very welcome) air conditioning, and top off the water bottles with decent chilled water from their drinking fountains inside by the bathroom.
I'm attaching this link (not something that I have any affiliation to) which gives more details and a nice review in case anyone is interested in a wildlife type of ride.
Circle B Bar Reserve: Lakeland Park is more than birding hot spot | Florida Rambler

Here's wishing you all a good week. Be safe on the roads.

Did my usual ride from home to the north end of the Withlacoochee. The weather was great for Aug 27. The humidity was low and I didn't get nearly as hot as usual. Made a short detour to the fruit stand in Hernando on the way home.
Rode a total of 37 miles.

Went out with a tail wind to elkhorn, then back in a headwind for 77 on sunday. had a fast group ride monday nite including a deer sighting and a flat tire, for 28.

Nothing yesterday. Just got back from an attempt....had nothing much in the warehouse....tried some intervals.....sweat a lot, not sure I got much done. Came home and had some froot loops. There's an easy group ride tonight. I'll try again.

Good ride with Bob, Bill, Ralph and Roscoe this morning. Made the usual stop at Panera Bread for coffee then headed out to the horse farms. On the way out we decided to ride a short distance on SR 46 and come into Sylvan Lake from a different route. Worked out pretty good, lot's of traffic on 46 but we had a good wide area to ride. The feel like temps was 110 degrees, so today felt like a cold front.

Great ride today with Posse members Ralph, Rich, Bill, John and Donna B, Tom and Renae, and Roscoe, and Linda P. Rolled out of the Seminole Wekiva Trail Head at 8:00 Am and headed to Panera Bread for coffee. After our break we did the Freewheeler’s Lake Mary Loop east of the airport then up to Sanford. We took a short break at the RaceTrac on SR 46 then set sights on Dexter’s in Colonial Town Center for some great lunch and a few brews. For the 31 mile loop from PB and back to PB we averaged 16.2 mph. The group stayed together and rode very well together the weather was not much of a factor today other than a little head wind on the south bound sections. Great ride everybody.

Good ride this morning with Bob K, Bob A, Rob, and Roscoe. Took the guys into some areas that they had not ridden before. Roscoe had to ride a crippled bike but it didn't seem to slow him down. Very warm out today, sure will be nice to have some cooler weather.

Rode solo to Panera Bread where Rob caught up with me. After coffee we rode some new areas that Rob had never been in before, Mandarin backwards, Wingfield Reserve, Spring Oaks, and Springs Landing. Rear tire went flat again this morning (slow leak) so I had a chance to try out the new work stations at the trail head, it's nice that the county has provided these work areas. I will be putting on new Gatorskins this after noon. Thanks for the company Rob, good ride

Good ride today with Jim T, Roscoe, Ralph, Bob, Brenda and Carl. After coffee at Panera the ride was a little more intense down International and out to the turn. Our overall average from PB to PB was 15.2 mph and that was with quite a few areas where we rode socially. We took full advantage of the new bike mechanic stands at the Jones Loop Trail Head. Good ride everybody

Great ride sponsored by the Rotary Club. Roscoe, Rob, Bob, Ralph, Linda P and I did the 62 miler route, Rich did the 100 mile loop and completed it in just over 5 hours. The weather was pretty overcast but no rain, which was a good thing. Ran into Ben T. riding his new Vendetta, front wheel drive recumbent, boy what a bike. I was pretty satisfied with my over all mph. Miles 1-10 averaged 17.5 mph. Miles 11-20 16.7 mph. Miles 21-30 16.2 mph. Miles 31-40 15.6 mph. Miles 41-50 14.9 mph. and Miles 51-61 13.6 mph. We did have a tail wind going out and a head wind on the return rid, so head wind and tired legs perhaps contributed to my mph falling off. That's my story and I am sticking to it. Great ride everybody.

I've FINALLY gotten off my lazy situpon and started riding again. Yay me. Even replaced my busted computer so's I can see how far/fast/etc. I've been riding. This newfangled digital wunderkind even purports to tell me my carbon offsets so the voices in Al Gore's head will leave him alone. Ennyhooo... Last Saturday's GCC LowBee's (14-16mph) ride turned into a SOLObee ride since everyone *else* saw the cancellation email. I mean come on, just 'cause it was pouring down rain... So I got in 16 miles in just under an hour, and was muddy, soggy and entirely well pleased.

Another trip to the inlaws, another windy beach ride. Left Taylor Park and headed down the Trail, then out Pasadena to the beaches and up Gulf Blvd to Clearwater. Ran afoul of construction - pavement grinder's been at Gulf Blvd from Walsingham nearly to Bellair. Blech.

Got mixed up in an organized ride of some kind (charity ride, I think) up near Sand Key; there were a ton of bikies gathered around a feed stop at the Coast Guard station. Made it up Sand Key Bridge in pretty good shape. Obligatory selfie-on-the-beach got eaten by my camera. Stupid buggy Droid. Clearwater Causeway was Headwind City; I just barely made it over the top without getting off the bike and walking. Yay me.

All in all just shy of 41 miles at 15.3. Looks like I'll be in pretty good shape for the 35 mile loop at the Tour de Tow next Saturday. Now I'm sitting here dripping sweat on my mother in law's kitchen floor and massaging a cramp out of my leg. Next up, hit Largo Subs for some of Pinellas' best gyros action. Looking forward some house-divided action with my UK-grad father in law when the 'cats play mah Gators tonight. w00t!

38 miles today, after taking 2 days off I thought my legs would be well rested, no the case. Overall average about 14 mph with one 19 mile segment 15.5 mph. Love bugs have started to arrive.
