Jacksonville Q?
I like riding up Heckscher Drive, but I have a hard time finding a place I'm comfortable leaving my car. Anyone have a spot they usually use? I'd prefer something closer to the Blount Island end vs. the Amelia end.

Larger gas station located at the exit of 9A and Heskscher ...Lots of traffic and parking...Brave girl riding Heckscher !!
I had planned a route like this before but never had the balls to ride those roads..

That would be one heck of a ride!
I know the Gate station you're talking about... I'll give that a try. I've had a pretty positive experience riding on Heckscher. Buzzed every once in a while, but it's sure a pretty ride.

I rode Heckscher one time an it was hair raising to say the least in spots, but found it a great place to ride once you get to the east of Blount Island and more toward Talbot Island area. Good luck and have fun. I've parked at the park at Little Talbot and left form there, and sometimes if your lucky, you can talk the guard into letting you park for free when you tell them you are just going to ride to Amelia Island and back. Does not happen all the time, but every so often I get lucky.

Ride from the Beach. Park at the Park just above the Mayport Ferry. Take the Ferry. The ride north from the ferry to Amelia is fine.
