for all the great teams the dodgers had in the 80's, the '88 team was among the worst.
hershisher (and gibson) were the difference. had no biz winning the series that year.
kinda made up for all the earlier disappointments in the 80's but also placed a curse on the team.
hoping this year's version breaks the curse.

I agree about 1988, and I think the difference with that team is that they don't (Other than Kershaw) have any spectacular players. They have a ton of great players that know how to play well together. The Dodgers have done a great team identifying talent and developing it.

We are 3.5 hrs away from the World Series! I'm psyched!!

It doesn't take much to get a warning from the Mod on the LCF sub-forum... sort of takes the fun out defeating the feckless logic of resident Leftist ideologues with nothing but simple common sense.

if you wanna make comments on the inexorable decline of the american empire since the jfk assassination or the recent elections in iceland, take it to p & r porfa. we tend to keep it chill around here, as befitting the idyllic so cal attitude many of us grew up with.

What is happening with the gravel bike and the electric bike segment in So Cal? Are we setting the pace for the country?

Thanks ooga-booga! I would post another ride, but I'm not sure we'll get the same turnout as 5 years ago. This forum is getting less traffic than the town of Green Bay on Superbowl Sunday when the Packers are playing. I would've missed your post too, but with the lousy weather today, I decided to spend some quality time on the internet.
Anyway, let me dig out the route we did back in 2013 and I'll post it for mid-June (let's say 6/16 or 6/23) as a preparation for the world famous 4-th of July GMR ride.

count me in for a half-3/4 ride depending on start time (8am? 9am?). i gotta be back in san diego by 1:30pm so that means leaving around noon from the irvine train station.

the 4th of july is on a wed this year. thinking gmr may not be closed at all or just that day. regardless, wanna ride it since it is a tradition.
