I'm hoping this isn't just joking, and someone will want to have lunch at Las Primas post-ride!

Needless to say, I'm in!

Well, my name is not Extort...but it's basically a ride down the coast from Irvine (near where the training ride is going to start) for the people who do 50 on the first day. The route takes you through Camp Pendleton so you don't need to ride on the 5. The 100 mi people take off into the hills in Carlsbad and come back after all of the food & drinks have been consumed by the 50 mile riders. The next day is the final 50 to Mission Bay.

Oops...I misread your post...I thought you were asking about the actual MS route. Sorry.

The route will be from Park Place down harvard... then through UCI to bonita canyon. R on BC to MacArthur. L on Mac to PCH. L on PCH down to Crystal Cove. The route back is similar but I think they go down to Jamboree and come back up Back Bay and the bike trail to Park Place.

I know a couple weeks ago they came back Newport Coast.

I should be able to make it.

better sign up for the actual MS150 soon... they are almost sold out. (max of 2000 riders)

www.ms150baytobay.com

madmike has the route correct, from there I believe that we will tackle Shady Canyon and over to Laguna Canyon for the brand new road that cars are not allowed on yet which will put us at about 30 extra miles beyond assisting with the newbies...

Then we will have lunch wherever people want... (as long as there is )

Extort, how many riders from your group will there be? Just a suggestion, but what do you think of riding up San Miguel from Bonita Cyn to Newport instead of MacArthur? There's much less traffic and you end up in the same place.

Hey Jason, the Orange County Rebel Riders are doing a GMR ride this Sunday. They are encouraging virgin GMR'er to attend. Said they are going to have some of the better riders hang back for the newbies. They usually have nearly 20 riders everytime they go up,all levels.

Not sure if Gina wants to go, I'm working on it. Says she'd feel better if we try it alone first though.

I thought you guys had already gotten your personal invitations!

Just an idea!

GMR's next Saturday for me. A more social ride seems good for this Sunday. (Hard to be social when strung out across ten miles of hilly terrain!)

when we were planning the route for this year's ride we needed to consider the newbie's that would be on the ride, and San Miguel and other routes were considered too steep... so we put people into heavy speeding traffic instead!

We are using these training rides to show everyone the new starting route to PCH, because this year the ride is starting at Park Place instead of Huntington Beach... My company helped to make that happen and that saved the MS society almost $20,000.

Last week, there was about 25 people there and we expect more each week.

I hate to do this to a ride that I helped make sure happened, but I might be backing out on you guys. With some long daylight hours still available and nice moderate temperatures, there's some rides I was thinking of perhaps trying. So I might take this Sunday to try one of those rides. I'll let you guys know soon.

Sorry Jason, but I'm afraid that we just can't allow that to happen, see you Sunday morning.
