Placed a big order. Since shipping was a flat fee of $5.95, I piled on the quantity. But at $15/box for the shot blocks, still wasn't too bad.

Is that a powertap hub? Who built it up?

It's not a powertap hub, I went with an American Classic. We did debate using a powertap, and I may at some point lace a Lew to one, but for what I wanted it didn't make sense.

I do have a DT Swiss with a Powertap, too.

Were you able to get the rims for $600?

I was able to get one for 600 cause I did it right before the price increase, but I hesitated and the second is is costing me more... :(

The rear wheel (rim, spokes, hub) weights in at 590 I think (though it may have been 570). The front, which has been built, I just haven't paid for it completely (stupid IRS) is 440.

Not bad, eh?

Picked up a few things from the REI site today. Got some sweet deals on a few summer riding goodies:

all this for about fifty bucks shipped. Nice, eh?

That's the plan, assuming I still do it! Now I gotta figure out how to convince the family to eat Top Ramen for a month.
