I have the Topeak Joe Blow Sprint from Performance and it is pretty good. It's not on their web, but they usually have it on sale in store. It's midway between the JB Sports and JB Pro. Jschen has an issue with the higher end JB head and one of his wheelsets. Those require the tube stem to be sufficiently long in order to get a good seal. The lower end JB doesn't have this problem.

i had a blackburn years ago...it kinda sucked......the park ones seem really nice though

If you ever want to try out the Easton Circuit (comparable to Race X-Lite Aero but possibly cheaper) feel free to borrow mine. As long as it's not raining, I don't use it much. It's just not as light as my Elan Aero and not as aero as the Spinergy I'll soon have.

Thanks! The trigger for me to get another wheel is because the Race X-lite is on sale... $550 - 20% + cali tax for a $500 out-the-door. This made them in line with custom wheels, rather than a price premium for a brand name. The more I look at wheels, the more I want them to be lighter and thus the $ goes up. :p

- 20% how?

Just got back from Performance, that store (old Fountain Valley Supergo) sure has gone to crap :( I think there was a total of 3 people working, including the mechanic. 1 guy didn't know what chain rings were (not sure he knew what a bike was), the mechanic was giving some BS false info, regarding compact cranksets, and the other employee kind of new what was up, but seemd to bothered or busy to care:rolleyes: The new Fuji Pro's are very nice looking, they had a couple of 06 Alhoa 1.0's on clearance for $1149, too bad they use that Trutaviv crankset, and some generic wheels. I stopped by SSC, and managed not to spend any money  Gonna take the Cyfac in there tomorrow, and have them dial it in.

The Elan Aero is light. :) And it comes in a choice of colors. It's about 300 g lighter than the Spinergy I'm getting, which isn't exactly heavy. But if you want really light clinchers, you should check with Tracy (tprevost) and see how she likes her American Classic Magnesium clinchers. :D They might still be backordered, though. Those undercut the Elan Aero weight by another 100 g or so.

By the way, if you want to remove weight so badly, wouldn't removing those tire liners be a good place to start? That's free. :p

$1149? Yikes. They had it as low as $999 around Christmas.

Double points this weekend so spend $100 and get $20 in future savings. I just got a K-Force carbon crank for essentially $347. My bike will definitely be done Saturday.

SD Trek stores have a 20% coupon off 1 item (except bikes) until Apr 9th. That's the culprit of my recent headache. 50/50 on just using it on a powerbar, or getting something a little more useful. There aren't many things worth getting, even with 20% off though.

Yeah, I know. That's why all talk and no action. :p

I know I'm at a stage were just riding a little more will have a more significant impact than the weight of my bike... considering I normally carry the whole kitchen sink with me on rides. Knowledge of a "deal" -> shopping -> looking at things that are no longer a "deal".

Topeak Joe Blow works great for me.
prefer to the higher end light aluminum varrels that I end up dinging up fast

True! Laziness > weight. The one I have now actually saved me many times for my weekly group rides. I took a look at my rear tire this morning and it has many 1mm^2 holes that go all the way thru the tire. If I get an extra wheelset, I'll keep the rear tire liner in my current equippe but not on the new set.

Wow, is that an optical illusion or will the rider's butt be a feet higher than his/her head when riding it? :p

Yeah, the FV Performance is terrible. I only go there if I know exactly what I need... then I just hope it's in stock.

i actually like that store better than the one in north torrance that is 1.5 miles from me.

if it is worse than it used to be then it is still better than my local one.

i went to ssc last week...great store. :)
