Last night picked up a Park Tools Chain Cleaner and ordered a set of replacement cleats (Crankbrothers Quattro 3-hole cleats). :)
|
I bought a pair of Sidi shoes. Even with my Performance points, coupon and price match they were still expensive.

that is a sweet jersey, sean

Being a newbie means the buying never stops. This week it was a new helmet -- Giro Pneumo for $89 at Performance. I was a little tired of my plain white helmet, so I got the blue/black model to mix it up a bit.
Also, the venerable Steve P. convinced me that I needed to watch my electrolytes on the long rides. And just like any good pusher, gave me a free sample of the stuff he uses... got me hooked... and I bought a tub of Elete. Lastly, after 3 failed attempts at a new s/s jersey (is there ANY logic to the sizing in this industry?), I am hoping 4th time is a charm with this one: http://www.swobo.com/cImages/Website...000_115326.jpg |
okay... another cell phone pic... the headset isn't in yet... hopefully tomorrow. Its just as well though because if I'm gonna crash, I'd rather it be on the test bike ;)

Hey Trac... I pick up my Superlight Saturday. Decided to take the 06 bike (and save $500) instead of waiting for the newer bike. Adding a King Headset in Silver (or maybe black I'm allowing the bike shop to decide) and I'm good to go. Hopefully will be test riding the bike on Sunday.
Like the wheels on the Juliana. Hopefully someday will be able to add custom wheels to my bike as well. |

For some reason, I was thinking that's where you got it... not sure why********** My headset isn't in yet, it was supposed to be here today (and of course, I never actually expected that the bike itself would show up when they said it would  ) Hopefully it'll be in tomorrow and I can trade the test bike for the Juliana tomorrow afternoon.... of course, I am gonna fall over and scratch the test bike instead of the new one ;) |
I'm not certain what's on the bike - I'm assuming its the standard wheels that come on a Superlight. Custom wheels will have to wait until some time in the future. I also just got the R kit, not the cheapest, the next one up. I decided I didn't want the flipper shifters I wanted the regular ole fashion triggers. The bike is liquid blue which is a dark indigo color. I asked for a silver headset but might get black. That's OK. I learned from my Lemond Zurich that too much blue doesn't look right. I traded out the blue wheels on the Lemond for silver and the bike looks better. So silver wheels on the Superlight as well.
Yes Richard and I are driving up to Santa Maria Saturday to get the bike - yes I know it's a long drive but I got a real deal on the bike plus I don't mind spending the time with Richard and visiting with Scott and Chris at Main Street Cycles. We were there just two weeks ago and I didn't expect to be going back up until mid-December when the 2007 bike ws going to be in. Oh well, at least I have the new bike sooner and I can get out there and try to get back into shape. I'm so out of it right now! I noticed your bike looks like it's set up with a Fox fork. The Juliana normally comes with a Black. Lot's like your bike has alittle customization. That's cool. You will love the Fox RP23 Shock - it's similar to the ProPedal on my Spec. Takes alot bounce out of pedaling |

I think you should come and ride tomorrow ;) Its very cool that you got your bike so much earlier! The package on the juliana is just one of the standard packages... even if I got a better package, I'm not a good enough rider to know any different so at this point, I don't want to spend the $$ I probably wouldn't have upgraded the wheels either but because the lbs already had them, the cost was the same... I am SO out of money  That liquid blue color is beautiful, its gonna be so purdy! Make sure you post pictures when you get home!!!!! Have fun w/your road trip too! I love road trips; I don't do as many w/the boys but they are still fun! t~ |
Easton Velomax Circuit Road Wheelset - Purchased these last night from Nashbar. With their sale price of $329, + another 15% off that, I paid $280.00. Not bad considering they are $449 most everwhere.
Anybody else use these? |
I just picked up a XTR cassette for my mt bike for $89 off of craigs list.:D
|
I need a zero offset seatpost. I'm stuck between the Thomson Elite for $65 and the Easton EC70 for $85.

yep..... 79.99
well... they'll clip anywhere within reason.... there is some spread of the clip..... so a shirt... jeans pocket or belt area.... sports bra.... cycling shorts! i'm gonna love it when i want to wear non cycling jerseys (no pockets)... previously i had to wear a fanny pack that i bought just for my mini... this is just a tiny bit bigger than the remote i have for the mini to turn it on/off, ff/rewind, volume! so one less cord... and no mini in my back pocket/fanny pack! supposedly 12 hour batter time! i have it 1/2 full (to test it out on the ride this morning) and it says hours play time! |

Nice...you are going to model it at the JT ride so we can all be jealous right? The hard part is going to be cutting my playlists down to fit on there... |
bought a red star! i figure i'm on here enough that i owe the people who work the site something. well, there ya go.
|
A red star is a good thing if you spend a lot of time here.
I went to the bike swap meet this morning but didn't buy anything. My wife bought several jerseys. On the way home we stopped at Performance for a new tire, 2 tubes, a couple of CO2 cartridges and a Road Morph pump. |

I have to run up to Vista tomorrow for my daughter's family court date, and plan to try to swing by Nytro on the way back. |
caligurl, you can just make a hole in your jersey and then slip the headphones through that and keep it in your back pocket...
But headphones, cycling = dangerous |
