It was seeing your purchase (Road Forums) that made me decide that he must be pretty decent.

He definately has a good reputation. The price is right. I remember before christmas he has another bundle deal but it was more and I didnt really need all that extra stuff. Its a nice unit, and I was suprised at how easy it is to set up, since I get confused easily. I actually found it easier then a bike computer like my Cateye Astrale.

Polar S150 for $31

I was in the local Performance shop this morning and saw a bunch of HRM on a table for 60% off the reduced price. Long-short I paid $31 for a brand new Polar S150 (factory refurbished but full warranty)

https://www.polarusa.com/Products/Consumer/S150.asp

Lists for $139 but sells around $80 usually!

I have that unit. Works fine as a HR monitor, but the speed indicator always seems to go in and out. Thats part of the reason I wanted the Garmin, one wireless unit and does all. However I will still use the Polar on mt bike rides.

I just rode 15 miles with it and the HRM worked fine. Since I have a hard wired Cateye Astrale for Cadence/Speed I didn't bother with the Polar speed sensor.

WHAT REALLY BUGS ME IS: the clear plastic cover over the display becomes almost invisible in the sun as it distorts and reflects like crazy.,,,,is there a fix for this>?

I havent run into that problem. Guess I just rotate the watch a bit. I imagine that may be a problem on any hadle bar device with the sun at the right angle. Most of my rides are shaded by big tree's so its not as evident here. I know its much more open there.

the coolest thing is that i totally didn't expect to get it today. i went to the lbs to visit the one i had on layaway and nabbed this one instead. it was a lot less and exactly the same (06 instead of 07). I am going to be up very very early indeed.

good score on the 06, usually the only thing that changes between them are colors and decals. how many gears you got on there?
