I love the shot at the observatory overlooking downtown. Very nice.

I notice you stop and take a picture every time you come across a brown fixie.

Man, you sure know how to take a picture. Are you starting in Anaheim on Saturday? Just curious, I don't know what I'm doing.

Nice shots Fixer. I went out there today as well (without camara) and it was windy. Will try to make the ride on Thurs as well as it will rain on Friday.

This is a foggy day in Hidden Valley:

Can't you tell I'm in love with my brown fixie?... It happens to be my favorite bike...

BTW, the observatory is somewhat open but only to those with special invitations. It is not open to the public yet. The main parking area is still fenced and there are guards at each gate. I took that picture through a chain linked fence....that's as close as anyone uninvited can come close to the observatory.

John, yes I am starting the Baldy ride from Anaheim. Hope you can make it if you're thinking about it!

I've never seen a strap on like that! IS it there cause it looks cool or is there some kind of aerodynamic benefit?

Not sure if it's cause I'm getting old and my eyes aren't what they used to be, but is your bike lacking a back brake caliper? I see a front, but no rear. Is there a back at all? If not, is it dangerous not to have one? Am I aksing too many questions?

Hey, I saw the Floyd Laser Show at the Plane-arium.

Also...any significance to the chicken? I understand the mural is a tribute, but what's with the chicken?

And...are those Eggbeaters? How'dyoo like 'em?

A random pic. The James Lick Observatory on top of Mt Hamilton, and a view looking into the valley.

It's a fixed-gear, so his legs are the back brake.

If he really was the Wheezeheezy, he'd lose the front brake too.

I commuted to work a couple of days on my fixie brakeless (17mi one way); it's insanity. After two days I threw a front brake on like dammit. I've since had to tear down my fixie (I needed to sacrifice some of the parts for other projects) but when I put it together I'm even contemplating a rear brake too.

Hey Fixer, you weren't on the Santa Monica beach path on sunday by any chance were you? I came off the PCH after doing the Tuna/Saddle Peak/Los Flores loop, and follwed a guy crankin' a fixie with bullhorns like yours.

I'm waiting for my CygoLites to come in. If I get them by Wednesday, sure I can meet you for a ride. I'm off Wed & Thurs afternoons & evenings. Otherwise, all I have are a couple of blinkies for now which are only good for streets which are lit up.....
