Was that Henry Coe? |
Okay, so no riding for me today or these would have gone into random ride images thread. I went for a hike/walk instead (and let me tell you, after 2 hours my butt is sore! It was no walk in the park…) As some of you who have ridden with me know, I just bought this new camera and so I’m picture crazy at the moment, and I just couldn’t help snapping a few. So, what I’ve done is take shots of the landscape and then I took shots of the wonderful critters who came out to greet me. I saw more animals than I did humans, so I’m sharing. NONE of them that I could get anywhere near (i.e. weren’t behind miles of barbed wire) wanted me petting them, except the beautiful little kitty-kat that I encountered outside a barn. She didn’t want me to stop petting her!

Ok, know it well. My step son crashed wifey truck on Oak Glen. I used to live on De Witt. Yes Oak Glen goes up to Chesbo Lake and you can also get to Uvas and Calero from there. Uvas canyon park is awesome place and not too far from there. Thats actually many of the roads that I rode on my longest ride to date. In another month all of that will be really green.:) |

Ring a bell? I know, there are tons of dead end roads up in the canyons, but that one was particularly remote and gorgeous.
Doesnt ring a bell. Some of those roads are narrow, but there is no traffic on them either. I **** riding over there for that reason, it can be a while before you see a car. I use that part of town as recovery ride area. None of the climbs are very long or steep, its a rolling area at the base of the foothills. Still a country living society. Friendly people for the most part. Its definately a good place to ride around aimlessly.:D |

Here are a few from San Timoteo Canyon near Calimesa in Riverside County. I had to go out there for some ambient noise monitoring and the site was a few miles off the beaten path. There's nothing like getting paid to go on a little bike ride :)
