So if you leave Sherman Oaks at 8:30...I figure around 9:15ish to meet...I will meet you at Riverside and Keystone. That is the traffic light at the other end of the Disney/abc complex...
So continue past the big intersection @ Buena Vista...the next street is Keystone...
I will PM you my cell....

Great ride, because I can actually make this one, which would have been my first BF ride(I don't drive, gotta take the bus).
But I can't make it, ironically because I have to be in CSUN all day for an aikido promotion test.
I'm very interested in doing this route some other days, though.

I jsut switched pedals so I am not sure how well I will do either...but what the heck!!
Even if you arent strong...we will have a good time!!

hello
Great ride! I met up with Herb and Sergio at Griffith Park and rode out to the Rose Bowl and looped back. Beautiful morning and there were a bunch of cyclists out this morning.
Now, I must prep for the Burrito Ride before getting ready for tonight's party.

Just wanted to thank George and Herb for meeting me today on a great ride.
We met around Burbank and headed on a Rose Bowl route as suggested by Herbm. The weather was cool not too windy. Had great time climbing up Chevy Chase/Linda Vista and desending to the Rose Bowl. George suggested a different route back to the Zoo via Colorado Blvd as neither me or Herbm new any other way to get back. The Fixer is the man, dont know how he does it on the cool looking brown bike with 1 gear, but he can he spin. We ran into a group of other cyclists and hung w/ them for a few miles. Overall, I would do this on any weekend or short notice. Thanks guys. Too bad none of us had a camera, oh well...... next time.
Here is the route we took on Google maps:
Dec 9th Rose Bowl ride
The stats are:
Total Time (h:m:s) 2:29:16 5:45 pace
Moving Time (h:m:s) 1:56:15 4:28 pace
Distance (mi ) 25.94
Moving Speed (mph) 13.4 avg. 28.5 max.
Elevation Gain (ft) +2,003 / -2,022
I forgot to turn on my Garmin until we got to the bike path in Griffith Park. At the end of the loop it was about 26 miles from the Zoo to the Bowl and back.
