day from San Deigo
Moved this over from the general mtb'ing forum:
Hey guys. I'm flying out to San Diego next week (Feb 13-17), and I'll be able to take a day to go biking. If you had one day, where would you go biking, and where would you rent a bike? I've never ridden on the west coast, so I'd want a good representation of what you guys have out there. As far as the rental goes, I can roll with fs or ht and be happy. Also, within an hour driving of downtown San Diego would be ideal. Thanks a lot for any advice.

I'll try and get you a route slip for Sycamore Canyon. Since you're coming from Downtown, I'd suggest starting from Santee side (about 20 mins from DT) If you do the full course, it's about 19-20 miles with 90% of that on single track. Single track has some rock gardens few little drop into what used to be water crossing and alot of tight turns through the creek bed forest. I love riding there. It's a great place to have fun. There's a bit of climbing there too IF you want, but you are rewarded with a pretty Fast DH section.
