That picture is only 150x113 pixels...so that's why it's so small.
If the picture was originally 600x400 (or larger), then somewhere down the line it was re-sized; either in Photobucket or before it was uploaded to Photobucket. Check the Photobucket upload settings to make sure it's not resizing it, then make sure you copy the correct link to paste here.
If the picture is only 150x113 on your computer, you can resize it using a few different methods...with varying results. Photoshop (if you have it) allows you to enlarge pics without them becoming grainy. A program called Irfanview does the same thing, but it's free for download here.

Thanks Mo'. The size in pixels, is this the physical size of the pic as you see it here, or does that refer to something else? How do some people post thumbnails, is that from the hosting site?
Please excuse the newbie questions from this relic of the 20th century.

The pixels is the physical size in relation to the pixel resolution of your monitor. If you look super close at your monitor, it's not a smooth picture. There's super-tiny squares, and each square is called a pixel. So your picture is 150 squares wide by 113 tall. My monitor is 1690/1200, so your pic takes up less than 10 percent of the width of my screen.
A digital camera can take pictures in Megapixels (1 million pixels), and that's just the area of the picture (ie: 150 times 113 = 16,850 total pixels) Some cameras are capable of 6+ megapixel pictures for super-detailed shots.
As far as thumbnails, some people will upload pictures to BikeForums as an attachment. In the 'Go Advanced' area, or when you hit 'Reply', below the reply window, there's a section to 'manage attachments'. There, you can upload a picture directly from your harddrive and it will be stored (hosted) by BikeForums. Your reply will include a thumbnail picture that people can click to open a window with the full-size picture. Other sites (Imageshack.us and others) can give you a clickable thumbnail link that you can copy and paste into the body of the reply.

ps. If you right-click on your picture, and click 'properties', it will give you the physical size (in pixels) of the picture. Most pictures that work best on message boards (load the fastest and don't annoy people because they're too big or too small) are 600x400.

Do you ride in that area regularly? I live near the bottom of Little Tujunga. I usually ride with the SFVBC. Some great people there. Try it, we meet at CSUN at 8:00 every Saturday and Sunday. Check here on the SFVBC thread first, if you want.
