Would this be suitable for me and my two sons (ages 11 & 13)? Or should I have them blindfolded?

So far, this seems to be PG, but don't bring up anything from the "What do you do for a living?" thread.

I think women are intimated by knife-wielding spouses, hot Look bikes, aggressive ducks, big budgies, T&A, sundials, freds, phreds, green goddesses, maintanence parties, burning parks, unbelievable weight loss, slingshots, bike tans... oh, quite possibly Scootcore's "armwarmers."
Real wimmin, on the other hand, have no problem with such things.
OK, it's 4am... time to get ready for my ride...

On all the other forums i'm on it's always the guys that scare off t3h ladies with their "OMGhi2U!" and "buttsecks please?!?" comments...
All the dudes here are alot more "mature" and laid back always politely welcoming the new ladies and making them feel at home. My guess is that they've already spent their energy getting some T&A outside of surfing BF.net to hassle those of the opposite sex.

No, here's my take. Some of the women on here, such as myself, are strong personalities who absoluetely love to cycle (and other sports) and can't get enough of it. We're used to being around men and women alike who are tough and outspoken and who also enjoy the forecful, in-your-face quality about the sport itself. I've rarely met a truly shy, timid cyclist. However, with that said, there are some women and men on here who don't like the shenanigans and over-the-top joking. I can't please everyone and can't not be who I am (who you see here is pretty much who I am in person, except I joke far more here and, no, I've never been in a porn film or traded sexual favors for a bag of Fritos). This site is for cycling (advice, planning, motivation, etc.) to me mostly, but for how long can we really discuss stems, tob tubes, Assos shorts, etc. before it just gets funny (and tedious if done seriously all the time). I know, the threads derail and go off topic, but So Cal riders DO host many organized rides that DO take place and we ARE a community (even if a little dysfunctional). We don't just log on the internet and smut around. So, I think it's the mins as well as the wimmins who make up both the serious and the joking sides to this fun, eclectic, community, and as long as we're out riding our bikes and are on topic 69% of the time, we're doing okay, IMHO.
And yes, I picked 69 as the percentage example for the EXACT reason you would think I would...
NOW GET BACK ON TOPIC. BF GET TOGETHER. WOO HOO.

Actually, i prefer 72, but that's just my preference.
But i'm really not kidding about the "mature" and laid back bit. After you hang around on some car forums for a while, BF.net is definitely more mature. It's a nice change of pace for me.
(and yes, i do mean "mature" with the quotation marks... plenty of us here get silly and immature on a regular basis.)
