I did notice you dropped away but popped back up with the Midnight Ridazz debate. My point, Alice, is not to pick on you, but to suggest that everyone who is on any forum, jumps in when it matters to him/her and jokes when he/she is comfortable. In discussing the merits of an all womens forum excluding men, that may work for some women as they don't want/need the man's point of view. But for me, personally, it doesn't work since I do like the X/Y mix with all of the debates (which the women DO have over on TE for sure), the sexaul joking, the juvenile joking and the serious talk about cycling.

I didn't debate anyone on that thread. I just replied to the original poster in a civil, inclusive, friendly way...
Very funny..yeah I saw you drunk on your bike riding thru East LA by the way...

Yeah, but I like the Amateuse name. I think I may use that for a future title. And I don't wear thongs on bike rides. I'd hate to have the red sea parted any farther than it already is by the saddle.

Interesting thread. And a sort of complicated one for me. Somehow, I seem to agree with every post here: "Yeah, what SHE said!" "No, wait, what HE said!" "But wait, that other gal had a good point."
Sigh. There's more waffling in my head than at IHOP on a Sunday morning!
I am generally opposed to anything that drives an artificial wedge between people. For me, an ideal ride -- or any social gathering, for that matter -- would include men, women, kids, old farts, booger-snappers...the whole smorgasborg of humanity.
But, as has been very-well stated by other posters, there *is* something to be said for gathering together into a special-interest group, to focus the discussion on specific issues. For example, the 50+ forum mentioned earlier here.
Perhaps should mention: I'm not a participant in the Women-Only forum. I wasn't invited.

Alice:
Those gifs c-head posted fall under the category of wedge-driving. He has his reasons for posting them. What those reasons are, aren't my concern.
We all have our prurient urges, and act on them according to our tastes.
Me? I am off to go give the cute guy at the coffeeshop a proper eye-licking.

Eww. Buzz-kill! You are hereby relieved of your official duties as my favorite wing-woman.
Eh, you were always too much of a boy-hog, anyway.
By the way, hope my earlier post didn't sound all snootie-patootie. I sometimes slip into that mode when I'm doing tech writing. Yuck. Talking to machines all day sucks the soul outta my fingertips.

Um, that sort of thing isn't happening anymore.
