Who? What guys? I'm not a "you guys" - I'm struggling to keep up with these people. Sheesh! I rather like the speeds you list above, myself.

You're way faster than me. On my hammering rides of 50 miles, my highest average is still below 17 mph, and that's with much less climbing as well.

The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. Or was it the lazy dog that silently slithered under the jumping fox?

Sorry, just testing my keyboard. I spilled coffee on it.

Looks good so far.

We'll see what happens when the stuff that got under the keys dries up.

Sunday we skipped Palomar and did that 56mile loop I took you guys on July 4th, our average was 16.8 and 4800ft of climbing. We made up speed on the DH and didn't go up "Mt Murder". My buddy broke a spoke 30 some miles into the ride which sucked( that bumpy DH coming down Rainbow to the 76).

Ok, for those of you who have some kind of color fashion sense, i need some halp...

Orange framed SS/fixed cross bike. What color bar tape and rims would look funky but still cool? I'm thinking lime green rims but am unsure what bar tape color i should go with... I already did pink. Blue perhaps? Or even celeste green?

I love numbers too, but it's oddly refreshing to ride my Allez once in a while, where there's no cyclocomputer. On a trainer, I'll count pedal strokes and watch a clock to determine cadence and calculate wattage, but out on the road, I don't wear a watch.

Anyway, people who write buggy scientific software should be shot.

I just ride w/ a low level HRM, most of my rides I've routed on Bikely.com already so I know roughly the milage. I just ride as fast as I can at a comfy HR for as long as I can. Been helping me ride at my LT longer on the climbs before blowing up. I'm still outa shape, so when I blow up I get massive side cramps.
I think it was related to all the booze I drank in the summer months bowling.

I plan to do alot more road racing next yr, not only crits this time around.

My LT is much higher than when i get "uncomfortable" and i oddly carry a really high HR most the time when riding...resting is really low, something like 39-42bpm...but i'll cruise at 155-165 without hardly working...on climbs like long climbs i'll be over 172ish for like an hour at a time.

I ride around 165ish on normal comfy stuff, gets into the low 170's on more effort on the flats and smaller hills. I ride 182-184 pushing it on hills or 25+mph on the flats. I blow up at 188-189. I fly on the DH while pedaling at 12x-13x bpm. Long DH like GMR or Palomar I can even get into the 11x bpm range. I feel REAL relaxed on the decents even though I pedal my ass off to go 50+mph

Lately I've been trying to maintain 178-182 on the climbs for as long as I can at en effective cadence. Sunday I manage to hold 13mph (182bpm) on W lilac from the base to the school hill top, normal days I'm at 9-10mph. Helps having my buddy behind me keeping the pressure on too, knowing he can pass if he wishes.
