Fun ride in the Santa Monicas 12/8

Some of us are meeting at the Commons in Calabasas,(the same place the PU ride was to start), and riding probably 60-70 miles in those hills. No route slip, no rules, no cost. Be there or be square. Roll at 8:00.

I can't say warm and sunny, but it shouldn't be too bad. We rode 100 last week in the 30s and 40s, so this should be a cruise.

The fireplace at Sierra Creek market will feel just that much better if it's cold and damp (and it will be).

If it's not pouring rain I'm in.

This sounds interesting. If I don't hear anybody planning on CSUN, I'll probably just do this one. If it's raining in the morning, however, I'll just ride solo from my house.

The e-mails are coming in and it looks like a good turnout of SFVBC riders will be there.

What a great ride! We ended with about 72 miles and 7500 feet of gain. We took Mulholland to PCH, took a left and had snacks at Trancas Market, then climbed Latigo. We stopped again at the Sierra Creek store and I had a bowl of chili. They put tri-tip in the chili, and it tastes great!
Keith and some of the guys started with us but split off to descend Westlake and go out through Hidden Valley.
5 awesome women on our ride, and special thanks to AkAk2000 for making the drive up to ride with us.

Here's a picture from Latigo. I hope someone will put up some others, but I don't think too many were taken.

John,

How was the weather, I was riding with the wife today, and we rode up to Santa Barbara from Ventura, about 10 miles less than you did today, and minimal climbing. Except the headwinds along the coast were consistently 15-20 miles an hour all the way to Santa Barbara and the temps stayed in the mid-50s. At least the air was really clean.

Hi Lee. We took Mulholland to PCH and turned left, so we had tailwind all the way to Latigo. It was a little cold at times, but we all had enough clothes.

John,

Thanks for the great ride. I had a blast. One of my favorite rides of the year.

Make sure to let me know if you are planning any other SFVBC "off the menu" rides.
