Burrito errrr Pizza ride recap
Just got back from the ride, I rode up from oside w/ Frank to 711 off Pico, posed at the coffee shop by there for about 30-40 minutes til the group arrive to 711. From there to Solona Beach was great ride, weather was really nice, I had started with 3 layers at the morning, and got down to one layer back in Oside. From there my legs gave me the OK and had a sweet pull from Carlsbad to Solona beach, roughly 15 miles. Mel was enjoying the draft Lunch was at Pizza Port, next to B&L bikes. I parted from the group and U-turned there and headed back to oside, went by fast, less then an hour to get back but a bit slower going north. My ride stats, 4h54min, 85.4miles @ 17.3 average and that was with a hang over, beer cramps and 4 hrs sleep I'll post my pics later tonight, gonna head to Hooters to finish watchin the charger game

Thanks Matt and Mel for organizing the ride!
Also thanks for letting me go on the first train. The train we originally bought tickets for was maximized for carrying Charger fans and could only fit 6 bikes. Everybody else had to wait an additional hour for a train with a baggage car.
I took a wrong turn in La Jolla and rode the remainder of the ride solo. Then I missed the right turn into Mission Bay Park. I kept going straight and noticed that the cars were going really fast. Then I realized that I was on I-5. I made a quick u-turn and got back on track.
It was nice seeing eveyone again and meeting a couple of new riders.

Yeah!!!! Pics!!!! I love 'em. You damn good-looking people. Oh, I wish I had come this year (had been able to ride for that matter). You had beautiful weather, and of course, the group looks to be a great one. Glad you guys had fun.
Melissa/Matt - I missed you guys!

was a bit smaller group compared to last yr. We had 16 riders at the 711 off Pico/101 and added 2 down at lunch. It was my longest ride on the new bike, the stock saddle is better then the one I had on my last bike.

We got in about 1 hr ago! It was a great day. It was a great surprise see see Maddmike and Lily arrive this AM. Phil did his casually late thing and told us he would catch up. We had no doubt he would and of course he did.
We rolled a little after 7am. We kept a great pace all day. It was PeanutHB's (Kristin) first century. She did great and kept up and finished strong! Frank, Jeff, Tiff and Ed met us in San Clemente. We met CJ and Rose in Solana Beach and they continued on with us. It was great to see everyone and have some new riders join us! Good to meet Ed and Joseph and ride with you guys.
Yes, I LOVED the pull by Jeff through Carlsbad, Leucadia, into Solana Beach. It was absolutely awesome. Had a blast!!!! Thanks Jeff you are the best!!!!
It was a great day. Thanks to Phil, Tiff, Voltaire, Cole, Lily, Mike, Dan, Jason, Dave, Ed, Kristin, Joseph, Jeff, Frank, CJ and Rose for joining us on our 2nd annual Burrito Century. Yes, we had Pizza(no burritos) for lunch. Because of the train delay we were not able to go to dinner and enjoy Burritos-- but I am sure we can make up for it next time.
Happy Holidays to everyone. See you all very soon.
Mel
edit to add: We will post pictures soon from today and from last nights dinner too!

Last year Burrito Century was my introduction to a BF ride and it was also my first century, so I wasn’t gonna miss this year ride. The group this year is about half (15 riders) the size of last year. A couple of new faces this year, peanutHB, merckx89, eddiewouldgo and Lilly (Maddmike’s lady friend). I Finally got to meet cjbruin and Mrs. cjbruin (Rosie). Had a great time, thank you everyone for making it a memorable day and a special thank to Mel & Matt for putting this ride together. Here are the pics…

Thanks for the additional photos, Cole. Matt, you and Mel put on a great ride as always. I hope you'll do another rendition during the first part of the year for those of us who, as Efficiency put it, "were full of fail."

Cool pics. That bridge over the San Diego River is part of my lunchtime ride sometimes.
