Banzai! Banzai! Banzai!

"I am felt1. And I see a whole army of my socalmen,
here in defiance of tyranny! You have come to fight as free men. And free man you are! What will you do without freedom? Will you fight?" "Two thousand against ten?" - the veteran shouted. "No! We will run - and live!" "Yes!" felt1 shouted back. "Fight and you may die. Run and you will live at least awhile. And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell our enemies that they may take our lives but they will never take our freedom!" |
^^^ totally brought tears to my eyes, man.

Reading Brian's comments have really shown me the ugly side of this forum. Completely opposite from what he intended, his comments show me how unprofessional he is. |

As a form of goodwill, here's one, on the house.

So did something happen whilst I was watching Hell's Kitchen that spawned this thread and made everything OK?

In reading I can only get a sense that the aim of many posters is to continue to bash and belittle BikeForums, it's moderators, and admins in a rather thinly veiled attempt to increase interest in that other sandbox (which I have visited) and for lack of a better words, poach members from the Bike Forum's SoCal sub forum.
I hope the other sand box grows beyond people's wildest expectations and then the folks running things over there will probably start to experience a lot of issues with trolls, spammers, and general ne'er do wells and in dealing with those, draw the ire of it's members. And then the shoe will be on the other foot. The only reason it bothers me is that I like a bunch of you and it seems that many people have been sucked into this whole conspiracy theory that keeps getting promoted when in reality, there is no conspiracy but rather, just a bunch of folks trying to maintain the peace and smooth running of the world's best all round cycling forum. If you don't like things, go play in the other sandbox and if you do choose to play here, try and make things a better place. It's pretty simple really. |
Better luck next year Arsenal... Ah. Gotta love good 'ol Steve Gerrard.

He who fights and runs away lives to run another day.

Sixty Fiver's post rings very true. |
Okay, I'm very confused now.

Say, waddya think of that Lance guy? I hear he's an up and comer in the bike racing world.
Heard of him? Kinda good at climbing, from what I understand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiCIJ2JewPE |

Some of us were doing that before he became a mod but that's a story for another time. |

We're just assigning moderators to individual forums now. Voltman gets SoCal.

That is so not true...and I have to totally disagree with your conclusion. |
My only complaint is that I keep seeing posts regarding this whole issue littering the So Cal main page. When does this end and when can we go back to being a forum of local enthusiasts who get together for rides and races, discuss local traffic and law topics, and otherwise keep each other informed of local events?
Finally, I have a suggestion regarding the recent events, but would like to know whom it would be best to PM them to. It's not worth public discussion/flaming.
