For a very social, mountain bike group, the ODC is close by. They do some road stuff, but the group I've ridden with is mostly mtb. Don't know the protocol of throwing around other groups, so let me know if you want the URL.

Hey, your sig says you have a Titus Racer-X. There are a lot of places to ride that in Orange County.

Insane, yes, but in a good way ! I just think it's great to find climbing opportunities closer to home than GMR and Angeles Crest.

Yah baby! Bring back pizza
You know what I can't get out there? REAL Locatelli cheese. And some good Feta.
You gonna love it here (I grew up in Brooklyn and worked in Manhattan). Sure I miss it but nothing beats SoCal for riding (well, except maybe colorado and europe which I've never ridden but seen pictures of it)

Wot bike are you riding so when I see you, I'll surely say hello.

Just something to look up - several nice social road clubs in the area. If nothing else - the websites post route slips which can give you ride ideas.

Try:

Bikeirvine.org (Bicycle Club of Irvine)

OCRebels.com (Orange County Rebel Riders) Rick is a member.

OCW.com (Orange County Wheelman)

There is also Santiago Cyclery, and all manner of clubs in Orange County. Riding in the Fullerton area is nice but when you have a chance get out south OC in particular Newport Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach etc. A lovely ride is up over Newport Coast Drive to PCH and then back up the river trail to Fullerton. Many of these route options are listed I know for sure, on the BCI website. Also check out the Back Bay Loop. If you like dirt - you are close to the Fullerton Loop - a fun, technical romp through old Fullerton.

And also check out irvineranchconservancy.org. Many MTB rides listed - all levels - in what I believe is the most beautiful trail areas of OC - the Irvine Ranch private lands. All rides are docents led so it's just you, that group and beautiful nature!
