Imperial Beach bypass open!! pics

I think its been open for a few weeks but today was the first day I had to go check it out. The new bypass gets you from the salt mines in Chula Vista to Coronado strand bypassing Imperial Beach. Those that have ridden this ride know the traffic in Imperial Beach was a less than desirable detour on a otherwise pretty and low traffic ride.

It opened April 18th. I still haven't been on it yet, though it looks nice.

connecting path from salt plant to ib/coronado

oft-rumored and finally built! once they started, it actually progressed rather quickly. rode it a week ago-roughly .5 mile long and well-engineered. now, if we can just get harbor drive repaved through national city (especially by the shipyard), the south bay will be a little more bike friendly. still dream of a dedicated bike path along the trolley/train tracks or in the center island of harbor from national city to cesar chavez blvd.
