Sum You Might Reck-A-Nize Tough Guys Jim and Elmer!
These guys are like the Charles Bronson and Clint Eastwood of cycling! We can argue about it if you want to. Well do you feel lucky PUNK! Well Do Ya? ...I don't know the story but I was told that Elmer is a legend. I was going to argue cause most of the time he just stared at me like he wanted to beat me down, so I didn't question it!
I ran into them on my ride today. Tank goodness they were done when I did! Jim R is one bad-ahrse rider. I first met him about 5 years ago when I was in a little better shape. About 6 of us headed up GMR from the downtown Claremont. Of course he ripped us all a new one up the hill. I had a good day and when I got to the top, he was telling me that I should try racing. I told him I wasn't really that committed and that I was just a dork cause I rode my roadie in MTB shoes. That's when he lifted his foot and said, "so do I".
That's when I realized, hey, I'm ok!.....The guy is a great rider and a really cool guy with nothing but good things to say! But like Charles B, you know he can rip you a new one if he wants!

Elmer worried me with his cold hearted staredown!...Not realy, ,the guy was totally cool and pretty funny!

On the other side of the coin, there was this nice guy, so I thought! We crossed paths as I was headed out, he waved and had a big smile, He was one happy guy on the bike. On the return, we crossed paths again. I thought about it for a few seconds then headed back to grab a shot. He was pretty tickled that I turned to chase him down. I told him I post the pics in the forum so he gave me a ig thumbs up. Then said something about being wanted in 6 other countries for murder and was worried about getting busted with his a pic on the net. Well, he looked llike a nice guy! (THAT'S A JOKE, DON'T GO TRYING TO BUST THE GUY! ) But either way, let's keep these pics in the Socal forum!
